Around four or five years back I decided to try my hand at technical blogging. I was going through a major career change - moving from a lead developer role into management - and wanted to be able to have something that could serve as proof to me and my new team that I knew what I was talking about.

I chose a spectacularly bad time to begin blogging though, as a few weeks after starting I had my first child and all notions of free time went out the window. I managed to churn out four posts about the SOLID principles before giving up.

In the time since my short month of blogging my opinions have changed, and the things I cared about strongly then no longer hold the same attention for me. I feel now I’m ready to resume writing for no-one, this time with less to prove. My goal now is to try and present ideas and experiences that might help others in their engineering careers.
